Roobarb packs a mobile punch

The DVD launch of the kids' hit TV cartoon Roobarb and Custard will pack a mobile download punch.

Mobile content specialists edpic in conjunction with Celador International, will offer a special in-pack insert, allowing viewers to download exclusive wallpapers, videos, voice alerts and the iconic theme tune for their mobile phone.

The cult kids' cartoon classic Roobarb and Custard Too launches on DVD this autumn.

The new series of the classic animation, voiced by veteran actor Richard Briers, was broadcast earlier this year on Channel 5 and Boomerang TV and the DVD hits the shops with Volume One.

It marks the next step in the partnership between edpic and leading TV programme makers, Celador International, the company behind the world's most successful quiz show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

edpic have previously created, optimised and distributed Celdaor content assets for mobile.

edpic Creative Director Paul Wood said: "Working with a progressive company such as Celador has shown how mobile content revenues can reach a brand's audience on mobile and also add revenue-earning potential.

"Roobarb gives a great opportunity to add a bit of classic telly nostalgia to your handset."
